The Smart Earth Project offers a comprehensive database showcasing new and emerging innovations in environmental sustainability, protection, and monitoring. Dr. Karen J. Bakker, Geography professor at UBC, enlisted me to shape their creative identity and design their online platform. Drawing inspiration from various sources and a competitive analysis of industry peers, I curated design elements and aesthetics in collaboration with the team, addressing their specific design needs. Progressing from wireframes to prototypes and finally to a fully operational site, we achieved our goals with a website that ticked all the boxes. Visit the live site here >>

[01] In addition to the website, I was tasked with crafting a straightforward brand identity and logo design to be used on the website. The globe in the logo calls to the environmental aspect of the project and the surrounding rays are there to communicate the connectivity and technology.
[02] Being a project without widespread recognition, a lockup with an adjoining wordmark was needed for communication and marketing materials.
[03] The homepage design showcases a preview of all the site has to offer. One of the first things visitors to the site encounter is the featured blog articles which are used to exhibit particular projects in the Smart Earth database and introduce new sectors in environment sustainability, monitoring and governance.

[08] The website is fully responsive and is designed to look great on any size display. With a large portion of visitors coming to our site from a mobile device, it was important to ensure that the website looks and works well on mobile.
